Lesson 7 — Executive-Ready Deliverables
Leaders don’t have time to search for insight — your deliverable must surface the answer instantly. In this lesson, you will learn how to design executive-friendly outputs that reduce noise, reveal the message, and help leadership act faster.
1. The Executive Rule: “One Glance = Understanding”
Executives read documents like pilots scan dashboards — quickly, visually, and for signals. Every table, chart, or text block you create must answer one question:
“If my leader only sees this for 3 seconds, will they understand what matters?”
2. Before vs After Example
❌ Before (Noisy Table)
- Many columns, unclear focus
- No message — only data
- Leader must do the analysis themselves
✅ After (Executive-Ready Table)
- One clear business question at the top
- Bold highlight on what changed
- One-line insight summarizing impact
Insight Example: “Customer churn dropped by 4.2% after the new onboarding flow — highest improvement this year.”
3. What Executives Actually Look For
- What changed?
- Why did it change?
- Does this help or hurt our goals?
- What should we do next?
Worksheet #7 — Executive-Ready Summary
Fill these 4 boxes for any analysis:
- Context: What were we looking at?
- Change: What shifted (metric, trend, pattern)?
- Impact: Why does it matter?
- Next Step: What action should leadership take?
Use this worksheet before sending any file, slide, or email to leadership.
