GVB Leadership Habits™ · Lesson 4
Leadership Signals — What Your Team Actually Feels
Leadership isn’t just what you say. It’s the signal your behaviour sends over time. Calm, clarity, presence, and consistency form the core of visible leadership.
The four leadership signals
Every interaction sends a signal. These four are the most powerful:
- Calm: “We’ll handle this.” Your tone, pace, and language when things go wrong.
- Clarity: “This is what matters now.” How you define priorities and expectations.
- Presence: “You’re not alone in this.” How available and attentive you feel in key moments.
- Consistency: “I know what to expect from you.” How your actions match your words over time.
Today’s signal habits
Choose at least one:
- In your next meeting, slow your opening by 10 seconds and set a calm tone.
- Rewrite one update so that the main decision is clear in the first sentence.
- Block 15 minutes to give undivided attention to one person who needs support.
- Pick one value (clarity, trust, learning, ownership) and live it visibly today.
- Notice where your words and actions were misaligned this week — repair one gap.
Leaders with strong signals don’t need to shout. Their daily actions speak for them.
